After dropping Hirut off at the airport in Geneva yesterday morning, Weisi and I took a stroll around Nyon and Lausanne. In California they have palm trees, here they have things that look like ogres. I love these trees and haven't been able to find out what they are called but they are everywhere!! We saw big cathedrals and beautiful mountains. Switzerland is really something but to be honest I'm more than ready to change the scenery a little.
As for today, I had a legitimate rest day where all I did was cook, read and pack a little for tomorrow. The thing about rest days is that I have too much time to think, and sometimes this thinking brings me good ideas but often it brings worries and questions that I am unable to answer. For example, what is the point of my trip? Tough one, I haven't figured it out yet. And I might not figure it out until I look back in a few months. Or maybe even later. What I'm trying to say is I feel like I need something more than walking around cities and taking pictures; a little more depth to my trip. And this is why I updated my profile on couch surfing; it's because I realized that one of my goals here is to meet people and what better way to do it than to live with them? Don't get me wrong it's a bit scary staying at someone's house you don't know but I am cautious and from what I've heard, it's a great organization with some really great people. Most stories are positive to say the least.
Tomorrow I am off with Weisi again, this time to Lyon in France where we will spend the night either surfing a couch or at a hostel. I have this little girl excitement bubbling inside me when I think about it... I love Switzerland but I think it's time for something new!
