Need to Need

Ever look at something on sale and come up with a reason to why you need it? A new mascara... Perfect the old one is running out. A case for my phone... Good the old one is Not as nice... A pair of pants... A bag... Earphones... Stickers... A desk... Laptop... Chips... Chocolate... It goes on forever. Truth is, you don't need it. Imagine you never walked past the SALE sign, would it have been a necessity then?

During my travels I have had to really consider what I spend my money on, not just because of my budget but also because whatever I buy I get stuck carrying on my back. Things seem to add up, and in the end I could be walking with kilos of weight I don't need. This mentality of travelling light can be hard to follow when everything you see is cheaper than back at home, and because everything seems so useful at the time! In Marseille, France I went to the Saturday morning market. I can proudly say I only bought soap, shampoo and some thread to sow my New France patch onto my bag. I carry a bag that weighs less than 9 kilos... And I want to keep it that way!
